One day Welding Technology Course for Welding Professionals

 About the Institute

The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW), a representative body of professional welding engineers in India, is involved in the advancement of welding science and technology within the country by disseminating development and knowledge in the field of welding and allied technology through seminars, workshops training programs etc., providing technical guidance and consultation to industries in welding, conducting associate membership examination and awarding diploma and certificates to members and publishing technical journals and periodicals in the field of welding. The IIW has been recognized as an Authorized National Body (ANB) to carry out certification programs of the International Institute of Welding.

About the Course

Welding plays a key role in every manufacturing process in a wide range of industries. To sustain in the global competition, industries are looking for enhancing the quality of their product. One of the ways of enhancing quality is by improving the practical and theoretical skill of welders. The situation today is there is a lack of quality manpower. The IIW has realized this acute problem and has encouraged its Branches to conduct courses and training programs for welding professionals like Welding Engineers, Welding Technicians, Supervisors and Welding Inspectors. As a part of this exercise, the Bangalore Branch of the IIW has decided to conduct a one day Welding Technology Course for Welding Professionals. Welding is a complex process and this Course is intended to bring about an awareness of various problems associated with welding and develop a structured approach to identify and solve the problems before they occur. The course intends to educate and refresh the knowledge of welding professionals on a number of issues such as welding technology, welding metallurgy, weldability of materials, guidelines in selection of welding process and electrodes, developments in power sources and welding safety and inspection of weld.
